I have a better idea.
They would have to speak English.
To get a driver’s license people would have to read.
They would also have to write a complete sentence spelled correctly.
They would also have to know how to keep the radio low enough so that you could only hear it within the car.
The idea about not paying taxes at 70 sounds interesting, but to be fair that could changed to not paying taxes after 70 on amounts under $100,000 annually.

It is age discrimination!!! Its like going back to the old days that female have to pay higher insurance than the male. We cannot generalize people by the way they look. There are lots of older people who are smarter and healthier than the young ones. By the time you reach 70, you will see how you feel about this idea!

YOU HAVE NOT THOUGHT THIS THROUGH VERY WELL, OBVIOUSLY. NOW YOU 'VE TAKEN AWAY DRIVING PRIVILEGES FROM ALL THOSE OVER 70. WHO IS GOING TO TAKE THAT ABLE BODIED MAN OR WOMAN TO SEE THE DOCTOR WHEN THEY NEED TO GO? WHO IS DOING THEIR SHOPPING. TAKING THEM TO CHURCH, TAKING THEM TO WHATEVER SOCIAL CLUBS THEY MAY BELONG TOO. HELL MOST OF THE SENIORS CAN'T GET FAMILY TO COME VISIT ONCE A WEEK LET ALONE TAKE THEM PLACES ON A DAILY BASIS. I WOULD SAY THIS IS A BAD IDEA. UNTIL SUCH TIME A SENIOR IS PROVEN UN-FIT TO DRIVE, LET EM DRIVE. JUST BECAUSE THEY ARE A LITTLE SLOWER TO PULL AWAY FROM THE LIGHT AND MAYBE DON'T GO AS FAST AS YOU WANNA. THAT DOES NOT MAKE THEM UNFIT, JUST MORE CAUTIOUS.
AS FAR AS TAXES GO, THEY ALREADY HAVE THE RIGHT TO DEFER THEIR PROPERTY TAXES UNTIL AFTER THEIR PASSING. IF THEIR INCOME PER YEAR IS NOT AT A CERTAIN LEVEL, DON'T EVEN HAVE TO FILE INCOME TAXES.

we would have to pass a law in order to do that. good luck with passing that law. seniors typically keep very well informed about anything that affects them. Seniors are the highest voting group out there, not to mention you have the entire baby boomer generation getting close to the age range.

Being 70 doesn't mean your ready to lay down and die. I know some very spry, active, intelligent elderly people. Don't generalize.

When your 70 ask yourself that question.
I have an idea?
Lets take your license away and see if you like it. In other words,
Put yourself in their shoes.
