There is 909 km between the two capitals (565 miles).

You have Slovakia & Poland between Lithuania & Hungary.

Driving wise, it's about 1100km from Budapest to Vilnius, although that does include about 50km in Belarus which you can't just "drive" though due to visa issues.

I don't have an Atlas in front of me now, but for sure you would have to cross Poland before you arrive in Lithuania, and probably Slovakia too.

Of course all depends where you are starting from!!!!
