This, I think, is an interesting question. A lot of times I hear that you're stuck with the friends you made in high school/college. Is this true? Or can you still make friends once you're out of college?

It continues to be easy to make friends up until marriage. After that its more difficult because then its harder to make good couple to couple friends & once children arrive married people tend to socialize with other married people. I've moved around a lot from one state to another or city to another & I found it always easy to make friends until I hit my 30's & everyone else seemed to be married. Had I not moved around so much I probably would have more friends today. Don't think of being "stuck" with friends made in school/college. There's an old girl scout song that goes like this; "Make new friends but keep the old; one is silver and the other gold."

I've noticed that the older a person gets the harder it is to make friends unless a person joins in activities they like & meets people with common interests.

Friendships are very different after high school. While in HS I made a fantastic group of friends who I really love dearly. However, in the last three years I have become a much more liberal person, and I know that there are some things about my life now that these friends would not accept...and I choose to keep that quiet. I still love these people...but I also have friends that I have made outside of that group that are more accepting.
After high school, it can definitely be more difficult once you go off to college, but depending on your situation, it can also be very easy and rewarding.

Wow "0 extracurriculars ... I do soccer ... 400+ hours of community service..." How can you say you have no extracurriculars?! Look at that commitment to tutoring you have! That's an AWESOME extracurricular! And soccer counts. Most people won't go pro so it doesn't matter that you aren't very good. It's still a commitment that gives you team-experience, fresh air, and exercise! Teaches you about hard work and practice and wins and failures. So it's good to have on a resume. And most people could not have an un-weighted GPA of 3.25 if they didn't pay attention in class and learned everything the night before. You're clearly smart. What I do to stay motivated is make lots of lists! Make a list of homework, tests, and due date for the month and/or week and then each day make a to-do list of homework and studying. It will help keep you on track :) Best Wishes, Tiffany
