i dont really believe this but how come scientist or no one gives this thought a chance do you think its possible a couple billion years ago people where way more technilogically advanced more than we were like had computers way more advanced then us and had flying things and tvs just out of this world type of technolgy but then through like a nuclear war and ice age and all that could possibly go wrong ended this and only a few thousand survived everything was destroyed and those few people tried to start over by living in caves and eventually evolved into what we are today

omg, i cant believe u thnk that too. i absolutely believe that. Everything just got erased, and soon we will be like that too, and a new generation will start from a simple stage, evolving to bigger stages. I have never met someone that thought the same as me on that. they think im crazy. but it makes sense, right? Just cuz were smart, doesnt mean we know EVERYTHING. Maybe we were from another planet a long time ago (another solar system, perhaps) as well, and we had to move here to stay alive, and we were just kept in a little bubble (not literally) and all previous knowledge was eventually wiped out, and we evolved into this...

Are you people serious? How is the invention of pasta (as one person stated) even close to the vacuum tube or the transistor, let alone the internal combustion engine or harnessing nuclear fission. Don't get me wrong, what we know about our environment and surrounding cosmos is very slim, but I am positive that we would have detected radioactive isotopes left over from a nuclear winter that set us back technologically (as another person suggested). We would all like to believe that the human race will survive through this period of instability but the answer isn't that we, as humans, used to be much more advanced than we are now. Oh, and I agree that the five Hitchhiker Guide to the Galaxy books are great and the movie was horrible.

We are definitely not the most technologically advanced people who've lived on this planet. That title actually belongs to the ancient Egyptians, Greeks, and Chinese. The Egyptians invented some cool stuff, like the world's first flushable toilet, the Pyramids, the first functional "batteries", etc. The Chinese invented gunpowder (which led to fireworks, and hundreds of years later, the airplane, the rocket, and space flight). They also invented pasta, which was brought to Europe by Marco Polo, and ice cream. The Greeks gave us mathematical formulas that, even after thousands of years, are still in use (Example: the Pythagorean theorem, as well as the number for pi, or 3.14)

hope this helps. Merry Christmas!!!

My reply is NO! Just for one example every time the earth goes threw a change (every 100000 yrs or so) all that man as built is destroyed, and who ever survives has to start all over again.
All sorts of things have been found that no body can come up with a definite answer to what it is/does. This is what I call scientific guessology. Atlantis, is but one of the many ancient civilizations that have come and gone, without a trace.

Yes!
My evidence is that before the Atomic tests on Bikini and at Trinity, explorers found these very strange 30' diameter 'glass circles' in the Gobi desert....they weren't meteor impacts or other craters, because such have a definate 'center spike' bounce-back zone, and these glass circles didn't.

Then, after the tests, it was clear that these circles were places where atomic explosions had taken place - - - but since their radioactivity were not that much higher than background, they had to have happened thousands of years ago, or been a higher technology explosion than we have now.

I do believe that we are not alone in this vast universe and that earth is not the only planet that can support life. Therefor taking into consideration that the universe is billions of years old I feel that the possibility of another race other than ours would be more technologically evolved.

May be we are the most technologically advaned people IN MASS
ever lived on this Earth, as there are theories that Ancients knew advanced technologies, but only the ruling people was informed on and now we are entering an epoque of consuming and choosing
the benefits of the technologies/ technic not harmful to nature.

in the book, "the restaraunt at the end of the universe" by Douglas Adams, human kind are all decendents of the "B" ark. running away from a doomed planet, the "A" ark carried the leaders, scientists, artists, "people of achievement" "C" ark carried the people who did actual work, made things and did things. "B" ark was everyone else. "B" ark was sent first and programmed to crash land on earth. we are those descendents. Descendents of those deemed unnecessary. ("A" and "C" arks never seemed to show up...... take the time to read all 4 books of the hitchikers guide to the galaxy, and set fire to the terrible movie.

I suppose it is possible, but I know of no evidence to support your claim. Scientist base their theories on evidence. Until they discover some ancient cave loaded with technology, I doubt they will change their views.
