you shouldn't care even people with money can't afford 30-40 thousand a year.... if you're that worried just say you didn't like the school, or their course offerings or heard their profs were really bad....eventually you'll feel okay to tell people that is was too expensive...
tip: just because its private doesn't mean its better or worth the money!

Going to college is not about "bragging rights"...about going to the most prestigious or currently popular college. It is about getting a good education...and hopefuly not having thousands of dollars worth of loans to pay off after. Many public colleges actually have higher academic ratings than some private colleges. It would be best to have a serious talk with your parents and work out what the best plan is for you. THEN, you do not need to be apologetic to anyone. Tell them you have made an informed decision on which is the best college for you. many students change theri minds more than once before deciding on a college. Make a wise decision, be proud of you careful decision, and then be the best college student you possibly can be.

some months in the past is surely basically after December, so which you havent given your self lots time to get better out of your ex.. If the recent guy is surely advantageous, tell him you sense somewhat fragile cos your ex became a bastard so which you delight in his interest yet dont desire something heavy as yet. If he's a advantageous guy he will stay around being advantageous till you're arranged. meanwhile to get your self-properly worth returned, understand that the reason your ex cheated is cos he's a bastard, that doesnt advise there is something incorrect with you. Heavens to betsy, Ive been cheated on an Im bloody ace!!! lol

Put it off on your parents. :-) Tell your friend that after you sat down with your parents and discussed it, they wanted you to hold off and look at more colleges - particularly taking a closer look at their programs for the degree you want to major in. Just because it's a private school doesn't guarantee they have the best business school, or medical school, etc. So just say they don't want you rushing into it, and picking a school just for the school's name. So now you don't know where you'll end up because they're all in your business. :-) On a side note, I wish it were not "embarrassing" for you to share the truth with your friend. Doesn't sound like much of a friend if you know she will judge you in that way. Good luck.

the best way is to tell them the truth, or you can say you changed your mind about going to a private collage. because the more you thought of it the more you knew it was not for you. and you are not sure what collage you will be going to or when you will go. and leave it at that.

Just let them know that it is not going to fit in the family budget at this time. You may be able to get Federal and state grants and loans at this time. There are also all kinds of grants that Guidance Counselors have access to. Check with them and see what is available at this time. I hope that things work out. Merry Christmas young'un!!

Why did you tell a white lie in the first place? Some of the most brilliant people in academia had to first go to a junior college before moving on...don't be embarrassed, that's ridiculous.

All you can do is wait and see what happens. You can always get loans and apply for fafsa. Actually, you should do that really soon if your parents can't afford a private collage.

Fess up
Tell your friend you weren't able to go to the school after all. Don't perpetuate a lie. You'll only regret it later
