Depends what you mean by 'random person' and on how wealthy I am feeling. When asked for money on the street, I have to balance the guilt of not giving the dollar with the guilt of depriving my family of the dollar. If the random person is a friend or associate (they could be random too, right?), the odds go way up. Overall, I would say the probability of my giving the dollar is around 0.4 on a good day, 0.1 on a bad day, and between 0.9 and 1.0 with friends & associates.

I have before, back in the day when I had the money.
I had to ask for 75 cents today to pay for a half gallon of milk. I'm not ashamed and I would totally help someone else if it was for food or something and I had the money. Well if it was for beer or cig's or something then no.

Yes, I have done that several times, and more than one dollar. Why not help someone if they need it? If it's a con, well, then it's a con. It wouldn't stop me from doing it again.

Yes, why not? It's not like they can buy something really bad with one dollar!? :) Goodwill toward men, brother!
Why not, even if they looked like they really didn't need it cuz even people well-off can run into probs -didn't have/ran out (for the moment) of spare cash for vending machine, etc. These may be the same people that share their spare cash with others needing a hand-out, so if it came down to that they just don't have time to run to the bank & need a buck for vending or something, why not give it to them, too? I wouldn't ask what it's for, I'd happily give & be glad I could share & help someone out & let them feel loved. :)

It really depends- if the person looked down on their luck, then I might be willing to part with a dollar. But if someone who looked really well-off asked me for a dollar, I'd probably tell them to go **** themselves.

In my riffraff days I had many situations asked a random individual to purchase me/us alcohol. of those many situations we constantly stumbled on somebody prepared to purchase us alcohol. { LMAO} Does all and numerous here declare to be residing in Australia? i could think of that in case you gave the impression to be eighteen and residing in Australia then some youthful individual could ask you to purchase alcohol for them. "Why then 21?" From Q: Is 4 litre cask wine okay to drink? Australia "In Australia, the minimum age for the acquisition of alcohol, yet no longer inevitably its intake, is eighteen years. In New South Wales and Queensland, this is unlawful for all people to grant alcohol to a individual below the age of 18. In Victoria you could consume alcohol at any age on inner maximum assets." depraved-pedia

Its happend many times and sometimes I do, sometimes I dont, it just depends I guess. I try to see it as being a good deed but sometimes I just get tired of the freeloaders getting a free ride when I have to work so hard for mine.

I'll buy somebody some food if there hungry , but I'm not giving anybody money. I don't want them to go out and spend it on drugs.
