Biodynamic agriculture is based on the beliefs of Rudolf Steiner and has many of the same aspects as organic agriculture. The biggest difference is that biodynamic agriculture places emphasis on the spiritual nature of farming. Biodynamic agriculture becomes a way of life - a way of being and living in the world. Steiner believed that the spiritual shortcomings of the emphasis on chemicals in modern farming was as problematic as the use of the chemicals themselves. He viewed a farm as a single organism which should be a closed, self-sustaining system. The emphasis is on the balance and healing of nature. He was very specific about the preparation and use of fertilizers - critics say that this bordered on alchemy. Some studies have shown that biodynamic farming results in better soil structure than conventional farming. Differences between biodynamic and organic farming have not been shown to be great; proponents of biodynamics feel that organic farming does not address "cures for the ailing Earth."

biodynamic agriculture is a whole life kind of agriculture... it is about having a close relationship with your whole property and learning about and respecting the relationship each thing on the property has with each other thing....

it is about involving the natural weather cycles, the natural cycles of life and the natural cycles of the moon, stars and planets... being very aware of the whole process of growth...

it is about living a biodynamic lifetyle....

it is not about just not using chemicals... it is about using other things instead of chemicals.... ie.. dont just ignore the grasshoppers find a bird that likes to eat them and attract that bird to your property... ie ensure there is appropriate nesting places for the birds...
