You don't. The most important things for college admission are a person's high school GPA and class rank. Beyond that some of the top schools want to see a record of service work and writing ability. Further, there are many good schools that have almost open admission. One that comes to mind is Indiana University, they are near tops in computer science and religious studies to name a few fields of study.

I believe you are referring to the college entrance interviews and application letters.
There is no evidence that this process actually helps universities select the best people. In fact your grades are more important.
They only matter if you are on the cut-off. If you are kissing but they probably are not going to let you in.
Instead find something that will convince them you will be a good student or have a good career.

Aw, the easy way out! No, unfortunately, that works for only those that can buy a new building by donating to the university or college.
You need terrific grades, a good SAT, a good essay, a great interview, and the desire to learn.
