I get them so often. I use antibacterial soap, I use cleansing cloths, the whole shabang. I got tested so I know it's nothing serious, but I don't get it. My boyfriend and I wash before having sex, we use lube, it is so frustrating. Any ideas?

I also use the probiotic. But I'm really sensitive. It's not only when I have sex, but if I'm in a pool, etc...I know there are several factors that can be involved, but is there something I can do or something that can be prescribed (besides antibiotics) that can minimize how many times I get them?

antibiotics will actually cause yeast infection by killing off the good bacteria found in that part of the body and in the digestive tract. and trust me you are clean. it has nothing to do with how much you use antibacterial soap, or cleansing cloths.
try getting some over the counter Monistat that's specifically for yeast infection, and use all of it as instructed.
keep taking the probiotic, that's actually putting healthy bacteria into your body.
eat less sugar, and drink less soda. sugars increase the chances of getting a yeast infection.
get tested for diabetes. yeast infection can be a sign.
eat lots of yogurt. it has lots of healthy, live bacteria that's good for your digestive system.
and be careful of cleansing cloths and some soaps that have fragrance added to them, they can be a major irritant. try something fragrance free like Aveeno soap or shower gel.
also wear white cotton underwear. they have no dye added to them, which is better for your body, and cotton underwear is better than nylon or anything else.
if you use tampons, stop. they have been known to be an irritant and cause yeast infection.
don't wear tight jeans. they are another cause.
when you get out of the shower, make sure you dry off really good down there.
okay, give these things a try and see if they make a difference. I bet you'll be feeling a lot better real soon!
one more thing, color toilet paper is making a comeback. don't use any color toilet paper except white because of the dye in it.
and don't use any toilet paper that has a fragrance added to it.
I wish you the best, and hope you feel better real soon.
Have a Very Merry Christmas!

You're overdoing the cleansing and your body is reacting to it. It may not even be a yeast infection, but rather a bacterial infection in response to too many chemicals. Relax and let your body take care of itself a bit.

Clean with regular soap and water once a day, but don't go overboard. Lose the cleaning cloths and anti-bacterial soap and anything that might contain perfumes - these will do more harm than good. Cleaning up after sex is probably the best time to take care of things, but you may just need to rinse off before and/or after. It also helps to try to urinate after sex to make sure to clean out anything that might have gotten pushed in there that might end up causing a urinary tract infection.

Also, if you wear tight underwear (especially a thong), you might want to get some looser cotton underwear for a few days to let your body balance itself out. Also, it may help to eat a cup or two of yogurt a day. Some women find that this can help them recover faster.

There could be several reasons. Swimmers are prone to them because there is a lot of sitting around in a wet bathing suit between sessions. It can happen from shaving too close to the vaginal area. It sounds like you do a good job keeping clean down there, but do you dry off thoroughly? Moisture is a huge cause of yeast infections. You say that you both wash before having sex, but do you wash after? Another big cause is douching. There are certain bacterias that grow naturally in the vagina which fight off infection. When we douch, we kill those bacteria and then make us more prone to the infections. All of those things are possible causes. There is also one more big cause- diabetes. I know you said you got tested, but did you get tested for diabetes? If you haven't you definately should. Good Luck!

sounds like a urinary tracht infection. classic symptoms! drink lots of water and have a glass of cranberry juice every day, my urologist told me i could never take tub baths again ,so i am committed to only have showers. guess what? i havent had any more infections. a yeast infection is very uncomfortable as you have severe vaginal itching and a white discharge. you dont usually get this unless you are sexually active. if your symptons dont clear up you need to re-visit the doctor. sometimes they put you on an anti-biotic that is called broad spectrum until they get the results back from the lab, then they will know exactly which medication will work. hope this helps you till you see your doctor.

well first off do NOT youe antibacterial soap down there as it messes up your bacterial balance and could actually be causing your infections.

another thing is washing alone will not cure a yeat infection so maybe your BF has one and keeps giving it back to you. Get canesten and use teh inserts and have BF youe teh topical ointment. If he is not circ make sure he retracts teh foreskin completley before applying. Aviod intercourse for 1 week untill you are BOTH cured.

make sure you are wearing cotton panties, tight panties and those with dye in themincrease your risk for infection

and another possibility is that your BF is having an affair with someone who has an untreated yeast infection and is passing it on to you (sincerly hope this is not teh case)

Don't use anything down there other than soap and water. The Vaginal area cleanse itself. Have your man get check out as well because you can pass a yeast infection back & forth. I think using antibacterial soap kills your normal flora. Just wash your self real good ,wear cotton undies if possibly and try to eat yogurt that helps as well.

To add to Dnarose's comment, also if you are constantly moist down there try pantie liners so that you can stay dry. I get yeast infections every time I am pregnant and that is usually the problem. Pregnancy keeps me very moist.

Some people, as I understand it from past research, are proned to yeast infections. Ask your doc for an update regarding their opinion on why it happens to you so often.
