Dry humour requires a certain intelligence and cultural understanding on behalf of the comedian and the audience, you dont really have to hit someone over the head with a sledge hammer to be funny. Its not something that is designed to be exclusive to Brits (though its all the funnier when it is!) Stop taking offence just because you don't get it, it's like a national institution over here and part of the curriculum! American humour can be great as can Irish, scottish and all the other ishes and ans!
A Merry Christmas to all you people of limited comedic intelligence (thats a joke aswell)

Bloody funny and I think not all that dry. Others are simply far too wet...From P*ssing themselves laughing a English Humour!
For the most part I think that USA humour is rude, loud, and too in one's face. I don't need to be assaulted in the name of something funny.
But of course, the English usually are not that thick of wit.

Hmmm, who's asking? What is it with YOUR English anyway, is a much better question. What is with YOU English (what you wrote) doesn't make any sense. And I know I have good humor, thanks, I'm quite hilarious. Haha

dry humour takes a higher intelligence to "get"

I mean pretty much anyone can see somebody throw a pie in the face and laugh at it.. but the subtleties of Brit humour is what makes it so good....

if you really want good humour check out the Canadian show

It is very clever and the cool thing is you do not even have to laugh- just stare back at them and say something even drier. It is wonderful.
