AIM is a wildly popular free online chatting service, provided by AOL. Go to AIM to download the software, and you will be able create a Screen Name-similar to a Yahoo! account. If your friends have Screen Names, then you can talk to them online. Oh, and by the way, AIM stands for AOL Instant Messenger.

AIM stands for AOL Instant Messenger. AOL is a company that provides internet nation wide. An instant messenger is a program that allows you to chat with people on a thing called a buddy list, which is a list of your friends that you can instant message. You don't have to sign up for AOL to get the instant messenger. Just go to "aim.com" and click on the "Install Now" button, and you follow the directions. There are many different IMing (instant messenging) programs out there, such as MSN messenger, or Yahoo! Messenger. To get MSN messenger, go to "msn.com" and click the "Messenger" button under the welcome sign, and it will guide you through the steps. To get Yahoo! well AIM is AOL Instant Messanger.. it is a really cool instant messaging program.. it is a great way to stay in touch with family , friends, and schoolmmates.
