The people are so much nicer, not at all up their own @rses like the Americans. And they seem to have a greater command of understanding British humour and I hear that their literacy rates outperform the America by leaps and bounds......

Hell NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Are you insane? Drunks are always nice, What so great about British humor? By your funny spelling I can see you are of the British realm. Literacy rates? Yes that is why they are the world leader in technology, science and industry. Oh no wait they're not. They lag behind America in all thing, especially our disdain for British humOUR. Limey twirp!!

You are right on all counts, and Canada is the greatest. However NO WAY do the American people aspire to be like Canadians. They are too patriotic for that and Canadians are no way interested in guns nor war nor controlling anybody or anything. In fact we are made up of peoples from all around the world and that is what we aspire to...to live in peace, be taken care of and want to be left alone and not involved in idiot war games played by rich jewish run politicians and corporations.

You should aspire to be like Canadians...but really we don't want you to. Just stay where you are and worry about your own country and all that is wrong with it. You have enough problems down there and we don't need or want bigots and republican attitudes in this country. Bad enough we have to deal with the influx of guns and drugs from south of the border.

By the way Canada was smart enough to break away from British sovereinty and run our own country thank you very much! :~)

I think you're just upset that British humor is UN-funny. All they talk about is the colonies they don't have anymore. Kind of like living in a dream world, isn't it?
American's don't aspire to be like Canadians, in the least. It's rather the opposite, now isn't it? If not for being on America's border, Canada, like Mexico, wouldn't be as you know it today. The only reason Canada is not under constant attack, is because of USA. We protect it, as well as Mexico. They, like Mexico have resources desired by other nations in the world, and they want them. America would not stand by, and let ANYONE attack our neighbor's. And about your idea of literacy, you forget, the amount of people who live in America, outweighs Canada 3 to 1, so that isn't really a fair statement is it? But there was never anything fair in your question, either. You have shown prejudice against a country you don't know, or understand.

VICE VERSA--Canada's Prime Minister is proposing legislation similar to the same corporate driven neo-con agenda that was recently shoved down our throats.

Why on earth would Canada need to have an increased military?

Your only enemy is us and we would see your white flag rising at the mere prospect. In closing--time to start worrying about your own damn body politic!!

Sometimes. Socialized health care and education are enough to make me all weepy. Gosh, to live in a land where people actually work toward having smart people, a land where doctors are available to those who need one. To have opportunity without being born into the right family.

But sadly no, we strive only to be a country whose greatness is constantly for sale to s/he who presents the most money. There is a lot of greatness in this country, but it is sad that capitalism has become our form of government.

(I am ready for all my "thumbs-down" now.)

Compare them to our northern states and you will find them very similar.

Except for the part about 'command of understanding British humour' which frankly has never been a goal of ours... we don't even spell it that way, any more....

Oh, God, Cherry Bl... did you even read what you wrote? How VERY humble!

Happens I like Canada a lot, and the UK as well (present company excepted.) However, I think we have room in the world for diversity, and can all like our own country best.

HAHAHA, you are making me laugh...have you been there? I love being American, so, I don't have to act like someone I'm not...most all have the Jone's syndrome...always trying to out do the next person.....when most of Canadians are suffering the same economic battles like the US working class citizens......
