Lol, I plead guilty, I do this.
By the way, I am a paramedic and work on an ambulance and believe it or not we are trained to do this. If an emergency happens we must be able to move toward the emergency and if we ar right on the bumper of the car in front of us we cannot move untill the light changes. Also the farther back you are the less time you need to give the vehicle infront of you to move. When the car in front of mr moves I can proceed no problem, I am far enough back I am safe.
There are reasons people do the things they do and partisanship does not play a roll. There are advantages to hanging back from the vehicle in front of you at a red light, you might explore those rather than say it is a bad thing right off.

This is OLD WOMEN scared to drive. So they stop back 1-3 car lengths from the light. When the light turns green, they do not move until the light turns yellow. Then they go thru the light. Forcing everyone behind them to not get thru the light. Happens every day down her in South Florida.

It is because the liberal bumper stickers indicate that the driver is probably on a cell phone, since he has no life, and is liable to put the car in reverse when the light turns green.

Where do you live. Not sure it would any type of thing than someone being retarded. I think perhaps somebody is misjudging the distance or lack the skills to drive and reacting out of nervousness.
