I can't answer your questions with respect to Europe, but I'm quite certain that, here in the U.S., it's more common than you would think. Is it acceptable? I don't see why it wouldn't be. Many of the people that answered this question already, made assumptions about a guy wearing hose - most of them incorrect. For example, a woman who finds hose uncomfortable, can't imagine a guy actually liking them. It's quite likely however, that that woman, just like her bra (or dress) size, buys one too small of pantyhose size. So her experience is that they're uncomfortable. If OTOH, she bought a reasonable quality pair that actually fit her, she might be more inclined to like them. The other assumption is linking clothing preferences to sexual fetish. Again, not necessarily true. Although some men do have such a fetish, it is largely in part because they're doing (wearing) something that is taboo. My last point is this: many women criticize (ostracize) men who enjoy wearing something like pantyhose, but these same women will not hesitate to put on some plain old blue jeans, t-shirt, running shoes and baseball cap.

Soon? Not likely. However, considering the history of fashion, if it took until around the 1950's before women wore pants, it's not a matter of if, but when.
Sooner or later, somebody famous will make the jump, and all the sheep, er, people will follow suit.
It's close with NBA players broaching the fashion, despite the NBA banning tights very shortly thereafter. That, plus all the comments above illustrates the knee-jerk homophobic reaction that people have presently. They'll get over it. It was only about 50 years ago when society thought interracial relationships should be against the law.

I really hope so. There is nothing wrong with a man who wants to wear pantyhose. Men have worn stockings long before women did.

I didn't know that it was unacceptable. While I don't have any desire to do so myself I think if a guy - not a gay - wants to wear pantyhose why not? Some people here seem to think they are not confortable but if that is the case why do so many women wear them.
And with regard to the "gay" comments, there does not have to be any relationship between a man who is gay and the wearing of female clothing. Transvestites will wear clothing of the opposite sex but a transvestite may or not be gay.

It's acceptable now. No, they do not have to be gay to wear them. Men wear them for a variety of reasons. They give support to those who stand or walk all day at their job. They give relief to those with vein problems. Not certain about warmth, though my guess is yes. Though I don't think it will become a fashion statement, it has certainly become acceptable and given the statistics will gain in popularity over the next 10 to 20 years at a steady pace.

I think many men already wear a form of pantyhose, but most of them are either athletes who use them underneath their uniforms, or cold-weather rescue types who need the layering. Otherwise, ask Joe Namath.
I doubt you'll soon see men regularly wearing skirts and hose unless they're transvestites.

With the exception of medical and sports purposes as well as events like Halloween and fetish parties, I'd say probably not. There again, unusual trends like this have started because of people like yourself who have balls of steel and defied the "norm". There's nothing against the law about it, so if wearing does it for you, then go for it. You might want to stay away from wearing skirts and heels, unless that is your thing.

Why should women have all the fun. I love the way pantyhose feel under my boring male clothing.

No, it will not.
However, what people dont know wont hurt them.
And if a man really wanted it to be acceptable, if that was his one and only grand mission in life, his reason for living, the only way to achieve that goal would be to wear them himself out in public BEFORE they are acceptable. People arent going to accept something as long as it stays hidden. They need to be exposed to it over and over again, by many different people and eventualy they will get used to it.

It wasn't too long ago that most women wore dresses or skirts all the time....they only started wearing pants on a regular basis maybe 40 or 50 years ago.
So I guess it is possible but I doubt it.
