Thats a great question! Most people don't know that the process of cleaning their skin with water actually make it dry out more. This causes pimples, blemishes and other unsightly marks on your face.

Water and soap are actually the worse things to use so don't get tempted. Ask around and find out what the best products for your skin are. You don't have to spend alot either! To find the best product you might want to go with a Make up consultant. You can get them to your home for FREE and they give you lots of tips and hints.

Sincerely,

Toula

Face:

-Know your skin type. Get products that are formulated to deal with your specific concerns (dryness, acne, etc). Stick to any new regimen for at least 6 weeks because it takes a while for your skin to respond to it.
-Don't overwash or be over-zealous with any product except maybe moisturizer if you find your skin is dry or uncomfortable. Don't overwash, exfoliate, etc.
-In general using a face mask or an exfoliating treatment (buffing beads, AHAs, etc) a couple times a week keeps pores unclogged and sloughs off the dull outer layer of skin. Exfoliate depending on your skin type... oily can get away with it more often than dry or sensitive.
-Always wash your face at night no matter how tired. Makeup left on leads to problems
-Diet... they say no foods cause acne... some people find specific foods they eat trigger it, but it's different for everyone. Eat a healthy balanced diet, drink enough fluids and you should be good. Alcohol never helps your complexion.
-Always wear SPF year-round... get a moisturizer with at least SPF 15, wear it as your day cream.

Pretty much knowing your skin type and treating specific problems are the biggest concerns... it's a trial and error process.

Body:
-Exfoliate in the shower at least once a week
-Put on lotion after showering to seal in moisture. Apply richer creams (body butters etc) to dryer parts like knees & elbows.
-SPF in summer to exposed areas

Water, sleep, and healthy foods are the best also wash your face twice a day and change your pillow case once a week to prevent acne. Keep your pores clean there is nothing worse than going round with a bunch of clogged pores.

All of that should make great skin. and give it time for all of it to work.

happy holidays

Genes.

Ever noticed how some people have naturally good skin without falling for the lies of the cosmetic industry?

I admit that given current scientific progress and legal fashion, a practical application of this suggestion is no where near.

Great as in smooth? Use moisturising cream.
Great as in fair? Use sunblock.
For the effect that you want to achieve, use the product that will achieve that. It is not easy to achieve GREAT skin just like that. You need to know which aspect of your skin you want to take care of.

Genes, Parents have good skin. You'll have good skin. Sometimes theres just nothing the others can do. But wash it, but don't over wash it. And use a cleanser. Not soap.
