If you had deleted them after you got them on your computer, then you can try to run a file recovery program asap. Restoration is a good free one. There are two articles describe different functions in it.

I am assuming you have outlook express installed and your backed up .dbx files located somewhere on you pc.
I think we need to return the .dbx file to its original location, which is the only way to retrieve those messages.
First locate the folder you need to copy .dbx back to:
open Outlook Express and choose Tools -> Options -> Maintenance tab and click the Store Folder button.
Make a note of the folder in question - typically it’s C:\Documents and Settings \ {Your username} \ Local Settings \ Application Data \ Identities \ {string of characters} \ Microsoft \ Outlook Express \.

C:\Documents and Settings\xxxxx\Application Data\Identities\{9ECAC:\Documents and Settings\xxxxx\Application Data\Identities\{9ECAC

To see the folder you’ll need to be able to view hidden files and folders, which you can do from the Folder Options Control Panel’s View tab.
Once you’ve opened this folder, move the .dbx file back into it. Close and restart Outlook Express and you should now be able to see the contents.
