I guess they vote for democrats because they are for
higher taxes, abortion, to go along with the ACLU, because
they are anti-war, they are feminists, they are Black, they
want to spend more and more for education that isn't
working or teaching our children anything, they listen and
agree with the liberal media, colleges teach them liberal
nonsense, they want to do away with Christians and all
Christian symbols, they all voted against English being
the first language of our country, they think it's okay to call
politicians names (Hitler, Liar, Bastard), they love sex and
violence on tv, and they even think it's okay for the president
of the U.S. to have sex in the oval-office with someone other
than his wife, and it's okay if he then lies under oath. There's
more but I feel sick when I think about liberals and Democrats.

Why do people vote for democrats OR republicans? Both are corrupted. Both only want what is best for their party NOT what is best for the country. People seem to think they should only choose between these two political groups for some reason. Picking a lesser of two evils is still choosing evil. Research and vote for someone who supports your ideals not a party looking out for itself. No one should ever vote for either of these parties again. They should be done away with for good. Republicans and Democrats both spew out a bunch of political BS but they never live up to what they say. Again, why do we vote for either. The country will vote Republican for a few years then get tired of the party and begin to vote Democrat for a few years. Then the Democrats screw up and the cycle continues forever.

The question needs to be modified to convey a clear meaning. The question of voting one's preference normally arises only in democratic set up. If people of a country are so united and stand for their liberty to decide their collective destiny, no dictator can seize the helm. Once democracy blossoms, then the people get the liberty to vote for their leaders at various levels..
OK. The direct answer to your question (as I presume it to convey) is that not all people prefer democracy straight away.. Even in ancient Greece, democracy did not occur all of a sudden but evolved over a period of experimentation with monarchy, oligarchy and other systems of governance - as history reveals...
Even in India where democracy was opted, it was not the people who did so, but their trusted leaders (who were in the fray in the freedom struggle) did so... The people were and still are basically hero worshippers who would have their destiny decided by their trusted leaders... The leaders happened to be great patriots in the early days and they decided what was best for the people... But over time a new generation of selfist and hypocrytic people had managed to gain leadership and enlightened citizens are now regretting that the Parliament / Assemblies / Panchayats are functioning so badly...
In countries like the US the people are not much hero worshippers in general and democracy functions much better with the provisions for recall of elected representatives and a vigilant media that exposes boldly the truths behind what happens at various levels... The police there can book even the President's daughter for a traffic violation... In India it is very difficult to have even a FIR filed on a more seious lapse on the local (ruling party) leader's near relative...
IT is said that people get the govt they deserve... and it is amply proved in the instances cited above...

There is only one question you need to answer, what has the Republican party ever done for the working man. Social Security, nope, Democrats. Safety in the workplace, nope, Democrats. Minimum wage, nope, Democrats. Disability benefits, nope Democrats. Medicare, nope, Democrats. Union support, nope, Democrats again. Oh, I know, they stopped the gays and non-Christians from taking over the country, yep, Republicans.

Because they, as it states in the constitution, are "For the People, by the People" and not "For the Government by the Government" as the Republicans are. Because people want health care for all ages, low cost education, decent environment, proper security (which would have avoided 9/11) which would also include strict immigration so that we know who is entering our country. The Democrats are also for keeping jobs within our country instead of outsourcing them.
To be safe, healthy and wealthy - vote Democratic.

I consider myself an independent, voting both ways depending on the candidates. But the idiot in the White House along with puppet master Rove, and his spawn Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity and the religious zealots who insist that all in this country should be Christians have bit by bit chipped away at our individual rights as guaranteed in the bill of rights. And then there's Iraq if you really want to get into a fight. Shrub fired Rumsfeld when he didn't like Don's position on Iraq. If you're really interested I'll send you my email.

Because I believe we are all in this together and not every man for himself. I also believe in a country of this magnitude and power should at least be able to take care of their sick. I also believe in people before profit. I also believe Iraq had nothing to do with 911. And I also don`t believe in protecting Saudi Arabia when 15 out of the 19 911 hijackers came from there.

Well, Cunningham, Ney, Delay, Foley were my second choices.
You should feel good about that.
Maybe the others who vote democrat have an aversion to corruption, massive debt, privacy intrusion, and religious manipulation, among other things.

It's like having Corn Flakes for breakfast until one day you get sick and tired of it, then you start to eat English Muffins every day. I used to vote Republican until I got sick and tired of it and changed to the other brand, Democrats.
