how come the name of JESUS scares people so much to the extent that they are trying to remove HIS NAME from everything? do people not realize that even if you remove HIS NAME you can't remove HIS authority?

I am a Christian, I try to live my life for Christ, and when we have the "atheist speaking of removing Him from everything, I begin to wonder....if ALLChristians took a stand for what is right, then maybe we would win this world to Him, and save more souls from being deceived by the god of this world...who is satan himself.

The amount of people killed in the name of Jesus, and you ask why it's a scary name.

I don't think people who are asking that religion be taken out of publicly funded areas of government are trying to take Jesus' authority from him. That's more than challenging if those people don't believe Jesus existed.

Your question jumps around logically. I think you are dealing with too many issues at one time.

There is nothing wrong with requesting that tax-payer funded buildings remove references to religion such as a city hall or a courthouse. As many people are not Christian, it's only fair that a courthouse not have the Ten Commandments posted in the lobby. It makes non-Christians worry that they will not be judged fairly.

And it's not fear. It's respect for those who have different beliefs from Christianity.

That said, reference to a Christian god doesn't need to be removed from absolutely everything, and I don't think those who are asking for it to be removed from certain areas are asking for absolutely no references to Jesus anywhere.

One more thing, those who don't believe don't think that Jesus has authority over them. Christians may believe that no matter what non-Christians say, but belief cannot be forced onto others.

I was born and raised a Catholic and I completely understand where you are coming from. However, we live amongst people of other religions as well and I feel that tolerance is the main focus. I don't believe, as a God Fearing Catholic, I would feel comfortable hearing praises of Allah on the radio during Ramadan. So, I understand, as well, why it could be selfish for Christians to force the issue of Jesus on non-believers.

The most important place to have HIS name any way, is on your heart.

Because most religious right wing nuts utter his name so many times and never act like jesus did. They show no love, no mercy, no compassion. Anyone that tells u just accepting jesus christ in your life by uttering the words jesus jesus enough times is lieing to you. Even in the new testament jesus says not everyone who says lord lord will enter into my fathers kingdom. Its best that u show your love for the lord through kindess, compassion, mercy and empathy. Jesus came into jerusalem on a donkey dressed in old drabs. Now in contrast watch the 700 club and teh way they are dressed and teh way they pass judgement on others and always follow the right wing establishment. Our actions will echo jesus within us louder than any words ever could. If you love the lord show the world your heart

I think the name of JESUS doesn't scare people.
It think the name of JESUS scares the evil beings, and they influence people to remove His Name .
The evil beings can not be present where the Blood of Jesus is being discussed, and that just might happen if someone sees His name and talks about Him. The Bible does encourage us to talk about Him.
They have a plan.........

I'm actually not sure. Maybe because he scares them. Maybe they're scared because they're afraid of what will happen when they die or maybe they're afraid of what will happen if they don't believe. They're probably not sure why it scares them either. They probably are debating whether to listen to christans or atheists. It probably scares them that they don't know how much time they have to decide. Hope I am a help!

His name isn't scary. It was a common name at the time he was supposed to have lived. The scary thing is what people do in his name. Please make that distinction.
