My wife and I have just installed a new BELKIN "G" router, it works perfectly with our desktop (which is a wired cable internet connection) but the problem lies with connecting to the WIFI signal.

We have secured our WIFI network with the proper passwords and I have enabled a "GUEST USER PASSWORD" so my wife can use her laptop through the same router (because I'm always online we want to be able to use two computers at once so we can both have Internet access at the same time).

My question is HOW DO YOU CONNECT TO OUR OWN SECURED WIFI CONNECTION? My wife puts in the proper passwords but the connection is still encrypted. Are we missing something?

Please walk me through this step by step...I will reward with 10 points for the correct answer!

Your new instantaneous get entry to element could be utilising a greater moderen variety of encryption that your older linksys card would not help. in actuality you would be utilising wep, wpa, wpa2 or no longer something (ie connecting with out any risk-free practices, which isn't pronounced). examine to be sure what variety of risk-free practices your linux container became connecting with. regardless of if it somewhat is older than wpa2 then you certainly might have fulfillment via placing the belkin to apply the terrific risk-free practices that the linksys can help.
