Go for 2007 itself, but if you're fond of Norton, then check with norton if you can upgrade to 2007 if and when they have it released. You may not be able to exchange it, if you have bought it quite long ago. But you certainly might be able to get all the latest UPDATEs which mean no matter waht year the software is branded, you'll still have all the latest weapons for ur antivirus to defend and defeat the viruses, trojans, spyware etc....

Please,Please return the Norton, get the refund stick it in your pocket, download Free Avg from grisoft.com. As a computer repairman I have to deal with problems everday that are directly linked to Norton or McAfee.

NIS, McAfee is a complete pile of rubbish, you can't remove it from your computer for the most part, (without great difficulty), and it's nowhere near as comprehensive.

I prefer McAfee from the two, but for much less, AVG is much more hassle-free and even more effective.

I personally wouldn't have either one. AVG or PCcillian both protect just as well withou cloggng up the computer or creating headaches.
