Yes, and actually thats better than keeping the battery inside of the laptop and never using it (always using the power cord). Thats because the battery will never be in use and will discharge on its own....which isn't necessarily good.

Yes. In fact, when Dell did their battery recall recently, they recommended that people use the power cord without the battery until their bar battery was replaced. Most laptop manufacturers even make a plastic "filler" you can put in the place of the battery to keep out dirt if you want to run without the battery.

It depends on the laptop. Some laptops won't power on without the battery in it. ( mostly older ones) But if you can power on your laptop without the battery it won't hurt anything to do so. If you bought one at Best Buy and get an extended service plan on it you are allotted one free battery replacement. Best Buy usually doesn't mention this when you buy one.

yes it is ok i do it all the time because my battery is old and doesnt work but you can use the power cord with the battery pack out it will work fine

Absolutely. There won't be any current flowing to the charge circuit, which is fine. If your battery is charged before you pull it out, it is likely better for the battery to run it this way.
