The first play that most basketball players learn is the "Give and Go." It is very simple and involves only 2 players. It can have many variants, but the gist of it is very easy.

Player A will pass to Player B (This is the "Give")
Then Player B will drive to the basket (This is the "Go").
If the Player B can't get to the basket, then he\she should kick the ball back out to Player A and start the play over again.

once your team has mastered the give and go, you should incorporate basketball techniques with the "Give and Go." For example you could create a Give and Go play that includes a "V-Cut" technique that will help your good shooters get open for Jump Shots.

When you feel your team has conqured to the "Give and Go" then I would attempt to teach them the "Pick and Roll."

I would have to say the pick and roll because it creates an open shot opportunity if done correctly. The way it goes is a player handling the ball gets free from a defender with the help of a teammate who sets a screen (stands in front of a defender blocking his way to the ball handler), once the one defender is out of the way it forces the defender assigned to the person setting the screen to come out and guard the ball handler, this frees up the person setting the screen for a pass and an open shot. So the pick is the screen and the roll is coming off the screen for an open shot. Practice it and it will work wonders!

good luck!

I've never coached a 10u team so I don't know what sort of basketball knowledge they can grasp but a pick n' roll with practice is pretty simple to execute. I've seen good high school team's struggle with guarding a pick and roll, so 9 and 10 year old kids would be completely lost trying to guard it. It'd be best if you had one of those MASSIVE 5'2 kids setting picks.

anybody gives an answer other than pick and roll they know nothing about this game. Period. No arguments aloud. Get over it. This play works at EVERY level of the game.

I recommend the triangle offense. it's a good play if you have perimeter shooters and good rebounders
