every time I tunr on CNN, all I hear is the right wing the right wing, and when I turn on Fox all I hear is the far left the far left. not to mention their stupid little test on bill o'rilly or whet ever his name is. I just want the news and not brain washed every time I turn on the TV. Your thoughts?

I defininately think that CNN and FoxNews should certainly change their approach to reporting. They are very biased and very seldom report on any world affairs, unless it relates directly to America(ie Iraq). How can Fox only dedicate 80seconds to world news , yet the presenters can discuss their outfits for 10 mins.
I Think the American public should demand to be more informed.

Actually it's more commonly thought that CNN is more left-wing and Fox is more right-wing...it's intriguing that you see it differently. Just an example of how many different viewpoints there are out there...

I totally agree that being able to turn on the TV and just hear *the news* and not what everyone THINKS about the news would be refreshing. However, watching both CNN and Fox (or any other two *opposing* networks) gives a more complete picture of not only what's going on but also how America is dealing with and responding to it. The truth is somewhere in the middle, and as long as we remember that, it makes all the liberal vs. conservative propaganda a little more tolerable. It's actually kind of funny sometimes.

Personally I watch both CNN and Fox, as well subscribe to various online news services. It's amazing what news stories different networks emphasize, and you're sure to never be bored!

News programs are usually bias one way or another, and it is not good to get yourself in a rut thinking in one direction. By analizing what you hear from all sides, use your common sense, and don't think right wing, left wing or whatever. This is one reason why I don't think Iraq will ever have a democracy. There are too many religious factions that think their way is the only way instead of trying to reach a common ground. But thats my opinion. See what I mean ?

*Simple. Don't turn it on. What is so difficult about that? I avoid the name calling channels myself, but at times I want to hear the other side of the story, or maybe all sides. Sometimes I want to hear a British or German point of view.

And don't even joke about censorship - taking them off the air. We are in a major struggle over privacy & speech rights in this country as we speak. Bush is trying to shut us up & limit our access to any news he wants to hide. No President has ever made a greater assault against the Constitution's Bill of Rights than he has.

I have a question for you. Why do you watch them if you don't like what you hear? Just click the clicker until you find a station with whatever your views are. I am intelligent enough to listen to other views and agree or disagree with them, right, left and otherwise. If you don't like O'reilley try Imus in the Morning, you may find common ground there..

I agree, the media is always one sided about things and seems to try to make you believe in what they want you to. Its bad enough that politics infilturate in every aspect of our lives. I have cut back on watching television alot in the past couple months. Maybe what they say is right, "No news is good news."

I agree but maybe for different reasons. There is not enough news for 24 hours of it and turns into a circus.Too much opinionated issues and not enough facts. And God knows the media has too much influence and power.

I was a newspaper reporter for six years. Yes, I agree that CNN, especially, has a bias. Actually, I think it's much more of a liberal bias. It's certainly not how I was taught to report the news in journalism school and I don't like it. I was taught to present all sides of the story and that is what I did.
