Be careful, the line voltage in Japan is 100VAC while in continental Europe (including the UK) it is 220-250VAC. Check the bottom of the player for required input voltage, some products are universal. You may have to buy a transformer to make it work. Also, you will need to make sure the video standard is compatible. In Japan they use a modified NTSC as well as HDTV standards and in the UK it's PAL.

japan is 100 volts and UK is 230, so you would need a rtansformer unless the playstation had a built in voltage regulator to switch from 100 to 230 an vice versa. A buddy of mine came back from japan to UK and had a tranformer for all his electricalequipment he brought back.
