Christmas is depressing because you don't get what you wanted to get. Instead you end up with things you hate and then convince yourself that you will not put up that christmas tree ever again since last christmas was horrible. You live on with that ever christmas thus your christmas became depressing.

Speaking only for myself I would say that Christmas becomes depressing because it makes you think back to a simpler time in your life when you didn't have a lot of worries or cares. Also, if you have some age on you, it's when you miss loved ones who have gone on the most. I don't get depressed like I once did because I've learned to observe the holiday as it was really meant to be, a remembrance of the birth of our Lord. Jesus is the reason for the season!

Tell me more. What about it makes you feel depressed? Hmm...now I sound like a counselor. I guess I'm just asking for a more specific question. What is that is bothering you about the Christmas season?
While I still am curious, I would agree with what someone wrote about the expectations surrounding Christmas. But is your question a general question, or you do have something that is specifically getting you down?

People have unrealistic expectations for Christmas (including everyone will be happy all the time). When expectations are not met, most people tend to get depressed.

I work in a funeral home, and we get more suicides than any other time of year around the holidays!
as for me, I also get depressed at Christmas- I just hate the holidays.- people, have gone mad- and commercialized it so much, its not fun and happy anymore.

Well in my opinion Christmas is the BEST time of the year but you have your opinion and right to say that ut, I can't answer that.
