My periods were abnormal for awhile but for the last year they have been regular. I have every sign of pregnancy but one negative test and the one that is positive I actually fell asleep while waiting to read the results since it said ten minutes I didn't want to sit there and wait and I ended up asleep. Neither of them are cheap tests, and I know it says to disregard a reading after ten minutes but if it says positive and stays positive is it REALLY a positive?

I would say take another test to be sure, or go get a blood test. The test is looking for a specific hormone and I know you are supposed to regard the reading after ten minutes but I have yet to see a negative turn positive in all the teenage years me and my friends thought we were pregnant...lol. I would consider myself pregnant if I were you to be on the safe side and see the Dr. as soon as you can.

Except for the falling asleep...my distraction was a phone call...I had the same thing happen.

First one said I was pregnant.

There were 2 tests in the box...the second one was negative.

I was pregnant. Very early and not enough of the hormone to register twice in such a short time.

Go see the doctor! Good Luck!!

I kept both of my positive pregnancy tests for my 2 children, and they still show positive after years. I would check another test to make sure, but more than likely if it shows positive, then you are pregnant.

Usually you don't get a false positive - but you can have a false negative especially if it is early... take another test in a day or so...but until then assume you are pregnant and stay away from alcohol, etc...

a positive is a positive, and what's wrong with cheap tests? The only false negatives I ever got where from the "name brand" ones, I LOVE the cheap ones, they've never been wrong yet!
