Let him think what he wishes. You can't control anyone's thoughts but your own. If you haven't explained why you spent so much money then tell him. Also, it is your money we are talking about, not his. You can do what you wish with your own money and he has no right to criticize you. Tell your husband to calm down and not get so excited over what you did. After all, you didn't rob a bank. I think if you explain things to him he should understand if he is a loving husband.

Maybe next year do the shopping together if that is possible so you can agree on how much can be bought. I think its great that you bought alot for your siblings since your parents couldn't. What's done is done unless you take some of the stuff back, so just tell him that you weren't competing ( and even if you were at least someone benefits from it, lol) and that you just wanted to help out. If he doesnt understand then maybe he is just worried about your financial situation or some other problem and is using this as a way to vent.

I do think buying has gone overheard for everyone. The true meaning of christmas has been forgotten in everyone's 'mememe' christmas. I don't think it's necessarily bad to overbuy if you just remember why you are buying. If the costs was an issue you should have talked it over with your husband before doing it and explained your reasons. I know you had a good reason, but it doesn't change the fact that you are a team with your husband now and not your parents. Tell him you handled it badly and sorry, that you will discuss it next time.

Explain to him that it is only a yearly affair. So in order not to let him angry again, will discuss the budget with him in next Xmas.
Xmas is the time of giving. So hopefully, your husband will "give-in" and no more angry with you.
Wishing you and your husband a wonderful Xmas day.

So sweetcheeks you bought Sears out? that would tick me out to. My wife and I made all out gifts. We made thirty quilts (30) this year, she knitted fifteen hats, pairs of gloves and warm socks, scarves, I worked my fingers to the bones and my mind to a frazzle designing quilts and cutting material, sewing and more sewing.
And, you bought out Sears. to bad he didn't kick you in the butt.
I don't feel sorry for you, if your that broke like we are all the time why don't you take up a hobby and start making stuff for you relatives.

Keep in mind your husband and you are to be a team. When one of the players decide all the rules and thinks nothing of the other person's feelings you are asking for trouble. Remember your vows and show respect. Money doesn't grow on trees.

Christmas is not about presents. It is about the birth of Jesus and spending quality time with family, friends and loved ones. Tell your husband to calm down and come to a compromise about the presents.

Were you? If you were or were not marriage consist of communication about finances. You need to say you are sorry and ask him to forgive you because you were wrong for that. It will blow over when he cools down but that is a type of disrespect I know it was little to you but what is little to us may not be to them be more careful. He is most important
