Well because it doesn't matter. She really doesn't even have that much power and the people in your little congress or whatever you call it over there hold the most power.

Richard the third the last Plantagenet king of England died on bosworth field since then we have been ruled by the Tudors(welsh) the stewarts (Scots) and the Hanoverian (German) how far back can you Trace your own family? all good Anglo Saxons no doubt (oh sorry the Saxons were German ) the soldiers patrolling Hadrian's wall were from what is now Yemen (where bin laden hails from)and there is plenty of evidence if you care to look that they were settled here with local women as wives, more recently we had the American GI s to stay and there were a lot of babies born (most of these GIs were from Germans settled in America by the Hanoverian George) if anyone had the balls to do a DNA test they can find out exactly what percentage of our own British ancestors were actually German so please leave the queen alone she has done no one any harm I'm not a monarchist but I would be much less happy to have phony tony for a president or even worse that "call me Dave",or smiler Gordon.
The British had the first president in the world he was called Oliver Cromwell and we didn't like it so we asked the son of the king we killed to please come back and be our king again and so far it has been very good for Britain and us British (the welsh and the Scots may beg to differ).

Study your British history.
A nation populated by immigrants from all over Europe and north Africa, with monarchy coming from Denmark (King Canute), France (William the conqueror) Holland (William Of Orange) and so on. The Original Celtic Settlers (pre Anglo Saxon) were of Germanic origins as were the second Celtic wave immigrants.
So maybe the Saxe Coburg's who now rule Britain are the rightful heirs.
And America we are talking real history here, like more than 500 years.

if you want to go far back then are any of us British?

I`m Scottish anyways and really not interested in the whole bullsh*t arena.

there all a TAX burden and don`t care much for all the staunch nonsense, but we have them and she was born in this country so what your asking opens up all sorts of questions for previous generation immigrants.

this question ain't going to change the UK thoughts on the Royal Family, it is just a moan... and at Christmas time, moaners are excluded, think of something a bit better.

If you look at all royal family's.
Most are not pure to the country they rule.

The royals (in the past) married as per the country needs.
to keep up relations between nations.

So yes the queen is not truely "british"
but she is an (somewhat old fashion) symbol of "british"

I can not say I think the royals are really needed in this day of age. but having saying that they (the royals) do generate alot of money (tourist etc)

plus it gives the papers something to write about.

If Will marries his current misses, I'll be pro-royal!
she's hot.

She`s only part German - her Mother was Scottish.
Besides since she was born in the British Isles she`s British by birth.

Well she was born in London, her mother was born in Scotland and her father was born in England so that make her British. But if your asking do we need an unelected head of state like the queen then no we don't, she and her wretched family are an embarrassment to this country and are as corrupt as hell

The Queen doesn't have any say in the laws of the country. She
doesn't raise taxes, she doesn't send our forces to war.She is an
ambassador for the country and a very good one at that.Check
your own lineage.

Just because The Queen's descendants were German.,it doesn't mean that she is a foreigner. Of course she is British, she was born in England.

She was born in Britain and she's half Scottish. She's just as British as you and me. I'm sure nobody else cares if her ancestors come from Germany. Are you suggesting we uncrown her because of that?

The Queen Mother was a Scot, so she's half Scottish.
