My mom gets mad at me for listening to rock, she says it's satanic. But I love Rock. either its Metallica to All-American Rejects I love it. But my mom says to listen to either hip-hop or classical.. bleh.. HELP.

im, listening to ONE=metallica right now, the when this song is done ill be listening to FUEL from metallica, metal/rock isnt satanic, its the disturbed crack addict sitting in his moms basement burning crucifixes that people should be worried about , not a little metallica

I guess your mom heard a metal song about satan or something. Yes, some rock songs are about death and suffering etc. but what they sing about is real. Are you a very Christian family? That's probably why. Show her that not all rock songs are "evil"! Hip-hop is worse because they sing/rap about drugs/sex/girls all the time. Well most of the time. Here, let her listen to this song (bottom of page) It's an awesome song about how we should all feel like a big family, no matter race or religion. Wow, what does she have like the parent from the '50s mentality? There's all sorts of rock songs that arent satanic. Examples of some of the more religious rock songs: Stairway to Heaven- Led Zeppelin, Spiritual Fantasy- Steppenwolf, Knockin' on heavens door- Bob Dylan, and there's alot more. It is wrong to make generalizations about a type of music because of the few Satanist Heavy metal bands. metallica nor All-American Rejects are Satanic. There are also some very obvious non satanic bands; The Beatles are a magnificent example. Why don't you print up a few of the lyrics and show them to your mom as proof?

Rock & Roll is beautiful. Anyone who claims it to be "satanic" is making a huge generalization and does not understand it. Listen to what YOU like & rock on!

i do'nt believe it's satanic... satanic is a religion... so how can songs be a religion... she may not like the lyrics which is ok for her not to ... but to fill your head with crap isn't very helpful to you either... perhaps you like the music due to the beat... what's wrong with that? good luck... mom's can be tricky to deal with
