First some advice. . . if you worry that you can't sew, you can start by taking some already existing clothing and modifying it. Make laces by creating eyelets with grommets, and grab some leather or ribbon lacing; or you could simply dye things in darker colors, or get some fabric paint pens and draw borders on plain shirts or old jackets. . . the possibilities are literally endless, and you may never need thread.
But. . . have you ever TRIED to sew? My advice would be to get some of the most basic simplicity patterns, ones that don't involve anything more complicated than a button, and make them in dark cotton prints. (for the love of all that's holy don't start with satin like I did.) A good way to get some self esteem concerning this sort of thing is to make a simple keyhole neckline shirt, or a flowy skirt with an elastic waistband. No fasteners, no darts.
Here is a good advice column on the subject of getting going with making your own clothes.

http://www.trystancraft.com/costume/index.html Now, this chick is INSANE. But this is some of the stuff that someone who also claims to not be that great at sewing has managed to create. Inspiration, I guess. Also, do check out her Gothic Martha Stewart page for ideas for your sourroundings. . . fun stuff.
Lamentably, a lot of the ones I was going to give you are now gone. Such is the way of the web, I guess. Anyway, good luck, and have fun with whatever you make,. Used to be, two goth girls could NEVER show up at a party in the same dress. Now, it's almost inevitable, I swear. So, good to see some creativity flowing.

for the guy above me, DIY means Do it yourself. I have Japanese fashion magazines lik "the goth lolita bible" ,"keramaniax" and this other one, thats all in japanese. These magazines are helpful, (they have patterns) and sometimes If you look them up in google, they will have the patterns online. as for making clother without sewing, there is a great product out there called Stich Witchery, its basically tape that you iron to bond clothing, instead of stiches, and you iron over it. Its awesome. Good Luck!

White face paint is available everywhere. Use that, dye all your clothes black, and concentrate real hard on being depressed and full of self-loathing. Good luck with your new lifestyle.

All you gotta do is do a search on goth fashion, then imitate it with your scissors in hand, get some safety pins too.
