It is disrespectful and belittling. I kindly interject and say that I was not finished..if they continue to do such then I terminate the conversation.

Yes, it's rude, unless you're one of those people that can't stop talking for more than 2 seconds, then it's perfectly acceptable to be interrupted.

I'm with you on that one. My mom and my husband do that to me all the time. Sometimes I start talking about something completely crazy and they won't even be like "huh???!?!" That's how I know they really aren't paying the least bit attention. I don't know why I even bother anymore. I will be talking to my husband sometimes and all of the sudden his face will just glaze right over (or if someone else is in the room, he will start talking to them right in the middle of my sentence). If I am in the car with my mom and talking to her, suddenly she will just start talking about someone in a car ahead of us and start cussing them out... then she never even bothers to ask me to continue with what I was saying, I mean, thats the least she could do.

Agreed; I also hate it when like I'm tlaking to someone and they just like get distracted and start talking to someone. Makes me feel like they didn't even want to talk to me in the first place.

Sometimes it makes me mad and I will say "Excuse me! I was talking here!" Also I hate to be ignored. So I've got a bad habit of saying "Did ya hear me!"

if someone is interupting or talking over you that means your not listening to them. if you are listening and it is actually there problem let them run their mouth until they get tired and then it will actually help them listen to you when you have a chance.
