I play hard rock/metal and have the Yamaha double bass petal which I am pleased with but I am looking for a better bass drum head and bass drum beaters to suit my style. I want to have beaters that can be very quick/light but have a very solid sound when hitting the bass drum. As for the bass drum head I am looking for something solid and heavy but with little resonance. Most detailed and informative answer which may include several recommendations gets 10 points.

I can tell you that drum workshop has good double bass pedals. I preferred the dw5000, but of course it depends on personal preference. The dw 5000 also has a double sided beater so you and pick and choose. As far as your bass head, again personal preference, I've preferred Tama. I've always put a large pillow and placed it against the drum head in my bass drum for a good solid thud. The larger and heavier the pillow the better. Probably the best pillow for that would be a feather pillow, if you can find one. Best of luck to you and jam on.
