I am not sure what is causing it. or how to rest it so I can have both at the same time. Any suggestions. Now I am not able to use the keyboard so I cannot get into the bio's. So now I have to figure out a way to use the keyboard. I have the on screen keyboard or I would not be able to use the computer.

most of the keyboard works automatically in win xp
but if iits not working try to install the drivers of the keyboard.
the pc manufacturer have given your keyboard driver installation cd if not, check the brand of yor keyboard and download it from the company official website

sounds like your motherboard is dying on you. you can find a new one cheap at newegg.com
