Your figures are in error. Are you somehow trying to work in your own prejucices? The actual figures are closer to the percentage of Jewish people in society at large.

A reformulation to a syllogism can provide a first simple basis for further analysis:
A state is Jewish if X% of it's elected representatives are Jewish.
X% of the elected representatives of the USA are Jewish.
Therefore the USA is a Jewish state.
The first premise is the key one of interest, of course. We consider its truth value below.
The second premise is a claim of fact, for which a reliable source could provide confirmation. What is the source of the demographic you quote? I did a quick search and found a source that lists 6.9% of congress to be Jewish. On this basis the second premise is false, so the conclusion is necessarily false, if we assume the first premise to be true.
http://www.adherents.com/adh_congress.html
So let us examine the the first premise. Two particular things are implicit to the question you pose:
1) What are the features of a state that would make it a Jewish State?
2) Is having a minimum percentage of Congress members being Jewish a sufficient feature to call a state a Jewish state.
One need only answer the first point to a degree that can allow us to identify one additional feature beyond Jewish representation in congress to falsify the second point.
One feature could be a written constiution that declares the state to be a state for Jewish people. But given even Israel doesn't have one yet, then that is not a necessary feature.
I am no scholar in this area, and leave it to others to demonstrate that some number of other features is required for a state to be considered a Jewish state. But my own sensibilities is that many other features are required to make such a conclusion.
So, no, America is not a Jewish State.

First of all America isn't a state and no America is not a Jewish COUNTRY. Just because congress is Jewish, doesn't mean everyone else out of congress is Jewish. Also, where did you get this info, off a druggie? It's not correct.

Are you a total idiot? There are 435 congressmen and women, not 100. There are 100 senators. and I doubt if 5% are Jewish. If you want to ask a question, at least think a little bit before you post it.

You're so lazy.
Why don't YOU work it out? Why don't you try to do actual research (aside from deciding if a name "sounds Jewish" which is a really moronic way to figure it out) and then get back to us?
But of course you'd never do that because then you'd find you werre wrong and you'd have nothing to complain about.

Where do you get these ideas?
535 members of Congress and you say that 320+ of them are Jewish? I don't think so.
EDIT - Humanist - did you even attend Civics class? Our Senate has 100 members and the House of Representatives has 435.
You're not even American, are you? Admit it.

Why does it matter? It's not like America is a Christian country anyway. And you can't simply go by names as the first post proved.
