Both are great cities. Where are you traveling from? NYC has a lot of history, shopping, clubs, restaurants and a total east coast big city vibe. Vegas is all about the spectacle. The casinos compete to see who can put on the biggest and brightest show. There's plenty to see and do without spending a dime. And even more if you've got the cash. Vegas has an enormous number of shows, concerts, etc. Also, there are some great natural sights nearby. If you're into that sort of thing you can rent a car and drive out to the National Park areas.
Vegas or the Big Apple? It just depends what you're in the mood for...

Since your a woman, new york city would be the way to go. There are many shopping selections. Las Vegas would be the way to go if you wanted to spend all your money and get laid. I personally would choose New York City because it has a good vibe and it is fast paced

New York is for thinking and Las Vegas is for drinking. New York has art and theater and music and Las Vegas has smoking and gambling. And it's hot in the summer and ugly.

I'd rather got go new York, personally. But good question, Las Vegas is really a gorgeous place as well.

greater useful at what? ny is a real city. it somewhat is have been given hundreds of stuff taking place. The Las Vegas strip is an mind-blowing tourist section, yet with out the motel/casinos Las Vegas could be no longer something.

I have not lived in either of these cities, but if given the choice I believe I would choose to live in New York city.
