There are over 300 million people in the US. And, it's one of the most diverse populations on the planet. There are certainly people (of all backgrounds) who dislike and/or mistreat others because they object to their ethnicity, nationality, skin color, size, sexual orientation, religion... I suspect this will always be a problem though I do believe a lot of progress has been made in the past 50 years.
The best we can do is to make our own points of view known. You have the right idea: don't perpetuate or tolerate discrimination in any form! If someone around you begins to express ignorant opinions about some group or individual, make it clear you don't agree and aren't interested.

I know what you mean but unfortunately it has been the human struggle from day one to try to control other humans by any means necessary. Whether this shows up as sexism, racism, classism, or any other ism you can think up it just shows that in order for one to feel in control of themselves they must control another human being. I think this is where religious beliefs and philosophies come into play. They are created to combat this, to overcome the opression of other humans. If we all truly understood what "love" is this would all disappear as trite and cliched as that might sound. Stay mad though, the only way to effect change is when people get sick and tired of being sick and tired.

Part of the answer to your question lies within your question.
Even you are apt to label people as "black, chinese, japanese". From the start labels are applied to people of different culture, religion, or background.
Perhaps the day we can call one another "human" and not give a second thought toward frivolous details such as "black, white, yellow, etc" will be the day we recognize we are all the same.
Perhaps that day can begin with how you label people from this point forward.

You're not the first one to bring up the subject, but I'm glad you did. Racism has ben around for a long time and i doubt we'll ever be able to completely get rid of it. Some just need to feel superior to others so they discriminate them by calling them names and stuff, others just don't like you. So, bottom line is being racist sucks balls AND @$$ but there's no helping it, there's always gonna be some bastard out there ready to hate on you.

I agree. I am not black, chinese or japanese yet I am treated badly sometimes. People will treat you badly if you allow them to no matter the color of your skin or your race.

they are treated badly because only 50 years ago their were slaves and people are really stupid and think people should be treated badly because the color of their skin, they thought that only white people were "proper". I know, I know, it's extremely stupid and it gets me really upset when I hear about it

That's odd. When I look at caucASIAN people, I think they have the yellow skin.
Orientals have white skin with a tinge of very light brown.

people are bigoted against what they don't understand or which causes them fear. For some people, seeing someone with a different flesh tone angers them, which is just a form of fear.
