I think some questions are really to circulate information rather than to evoke answers, and I'm ok with that.

Basically we are all asking questions we have our own opinions about, and are rewarding best answer to those that share our opinion. I have on occasion chosen best answers that are completely against my own thinking because the person's point of view had given me some very different insight into the question I was asking. However being completely honest there are very few republicans on here that I agree with on most any subject. Andy g is the exception that comes to mind, he actually practices what he preaches in most of his answers.

Interesting so I would not wait to get best answer if you already convinced yourself of what the right answer is. Well I don't think it's wrong because I would say about 80% or more percent of people do this. They ask a question and in the additional details they state what they believe or what kind of answers they want. I think in the end it's pointless to answer these questions if you believe the opposite because your answer will not be read or chosen as best answer because the asker already made up his/her mind.

The person asking the question is given the opportunity to choose first who has given the best answer. If not, the question is put up for vote after 5 days.

I usually ask question I think I know but I get insight from others. If it has some reason or logic my opinion/outlook grows. I like the humor in some of the answers but evidently some of the Yahoo Answer management doesn't. Political discussion is good!

If you've been following YA for very long you'd notice that it really isn't a forum where the majority of questioners are actually looking for information.... rather it has become a forum for venting against one point of view or another.... slandering, potty jokes, third grade name calling and sweeping generalizations are the fodder for the attacks.... reasoned responses are also rare (mostly because of the questions lack of any quality at all)

No, it is not wrong. Sometimes people are looking for a different point of view than their own. Or they just feel reassured when someone does share their opinion/ decision. As my Jr High Professor use to tell me, "There is no stupid question!" So, keep on looking for the food to feed your thoughts!!!
