Drink more milk, file them every week or two, and rub vitamin E (from the capsules) on them once a week.

You need to treat your nails on the inside and out.
Inside...make sure you have a well-balanced diet. A good multivitamin or even prenatal vitamins will help, but of course the ideal source would be nutritional food. Milk and protein are vital.
Outside...a good moisturizer on the cuticles will work wonders. Believe it or not, A&D ointment (not the creamy stuff) works very well. Keep away from any "strengthening nail polish". Your nails need oxygen to grow. You can use a buffer to make your nails look shiny without any polish, and that will also stimulate nail growth and encourage oxygen absorbtion. As far as trimming, I would stick to just using an emery board to smooth the edges. Smooth in one direction, not back and forth, with the board slightly at an angle, parallel to your fingertip (not straight up and down). If you have long slender fingers, keep them rounded to the tip. Short, stocky fingers should be kept in a square cut, with the corners smoothed enough to keep from catching on things. Clippers are only good for taking length off, which is what you don't want ;) If you do have a nail crack or break, use clippers to snip any large pieces above the break. Use the emery board to smooth out the end so there are no rough edges to catch on anything. Do the best you can to bring it back to the correct angle, either square or rounded.
Keep your fingernails dry!!...If you do dishes, wear gloves. Don't soak in the tub unless your fingernails are out of the water. Water is your enemy!! It softens the nails and they can tear very easily. Be very careful until they are completely dry and turn white again.
I wish you the best of luck and I hope this helps!!

Take vitamins every day and if you get sally hansen hardening nail polish it works amazing! also, if you file your nails, dont file the corners because it makes the nail easier to break. also, try to avoid scratching or anything that would wear down the strength of your nails.

My first ex develop right into a nail tech. Do you're taking supplementations? attempt that first. keep pretend nails off in case you have worry with nail density. This in basic terms makes issues worse. do no longer (probable do no longer would desire to tell you this) positioned them on your mouth, whether you dont chew them. attempt to maintain them dry. notice: This nonetheless would possibly no longer artwork. some persons are cursed with skinny nails.

I agree on supplements, for hair and nails (it's the same vitamin and minerals in one tablet usually), take them for a month and you can notice the difference! I do the same :)
