I am pro-choice. When I hear debates on the issue, for me, there is no changing my mind, and no turning my thoughts. My opinion will never even budge. What the Christians' call evidence, or nearly any prop-lifer Christian, for that matter, calls evidence, is themselves reading verses from the bible. How is this evidence, again? It isn't. However, I have eveidence. Many pro-choicers do. Medical facts. Like these: The fetus is not a human, just a mass of tissue, let alone the fact that, not only is the fetus not alive, but you have to have an abortion before, at, or around 4 months of being pregnant. The fetus isn't actually "Alive" until it can survive without the mother, at around 24 to 25 weeks. Every child should be wanted, but most aren't. Would you rather the woman get an abortion, or have the unwanted child and abuse or neglect it? Aborting unwanted children reduces the number of abused children. The number of abortions is relatively small because of how many people get the courts to make sure that no one gets an abortion. Nobody has the right to impose their morals on me, or anyone else, for that matter. A woman should be able to control her own body. Abortion must be kept legal, especially for all the rape and incest pregnancies. If abortion is outlawed women will be forced to go to back-alley abortion clinics. We need to remember that we are overpopulating the planet and running out of world resorces. So why do you agree, disagree with abortion? Do you have evidence? PLease don't use bible verses as "proof"...thanks! It's just opinions, remember!
Happy holidays all!!
P.S. Remember, not everyone celebrates Christmas!! There are other holidays too!!

According to science, there are 8 signs of life, any living thing can do all 8 at once. A fetus can only do 5 of them.

I wouldn't do it, but I wouldn't judge another woman if she chose this path..she would have her reasons, and it wouldn't be my place to judge. As for why I wouldn't do it...I'm not religious at all; I'm atheist, actually. I just couldn't bear the thought of stopping a life that I created, basically of my own will, because I would be the one that made the choice to have sex, not the unborn life-to-be inside me. However, I am pro-choice because this IS my choice....but that doesn't mean it's everyone's. To each her own, ya know?

Ok, You have to be crazy if you think a fetus isn't alive. Do you have kids? Have you seen sonograms? I'm 6 weeks pregnant now! I have seen my baby's HEARTBEAT!! Anything that has a PULSE is ALIVE. I'm Pro-Choice, I'm Christian and I believe the Lord gives you life and the Lord takith away. I agree with you on rape and incest victims.. But, abortion stops a beating heart no matter how you look at it. I'm a mother of 3 soon to be 4. I had my first at 18 and thought about abortion myself. I looked at it the way you did to begin with. After seeing my baby's heartbeart.... I walked out of that office, did the right thing and don't regret a minute of it. Also, I agree with you on abused children.. But, how far is to far?? When you see the same woman going in to a clinic at least 6 times a year for an abortion. There are 60% of women that have abortions take advantage of the proceedure. Then you wonder WHY we have Pro-Life people?? People like that using abortion as "birth control" instead of using proper methods. It's murder to me when it's done that many times. Like you said, it's all about opinion. I respect your beliefs too.
So, Happy Holidays and Have a Happy New Year!!

You're probably going to get a lot of answers you don't agree with so I hope you're prepared for those. I, myself, do not believe in abortion. I feel in my heart it is wrong. I noticed you only talked about kids not being wanted. That may be true of the birth mother, but have you though about how many thousands of couples are out there looking for a baby to adopt? Birth mothers wouldn't have to have any contact with the adpotive parents what so ever and most have their medical bills paid, like the prenatal and so forth, and also get paid a few thousand dollars for the baby themselves. I do believe in the Holy Bible and what it says about knowing us before we were created, but I don't use that. There are a lot of women who use abortion as a way of birth control and where rape and incest go only 5% of the women who had an abortion were because of that. It's not a lot. Those would be the exceptions to a law forbidding abortion or if the mom's life was at risk. Have you seen pictures of the babies that have been aborted? It's a real eye opener. I'm not going to change your mind and that wasn't my intention. Just my opinion. God Bless.

The fetus isn't actually "Alive" until it can survive without the mother..... ????
Well how long did your mother feed you ? How old were you, when you started to live on your own and independent ???
Read about the difference between a fetus and an embryo, make the effort to read about the whole development to get a different point of view.
Rape and incest is an absolutely different topic and shouldn't be discussed in context with abortion in general, the same with overpopulation....

Personally I don't care if you don't agree with the bible, I am a Pro-Life Christian, and in my opinion there is NO SUCH thing as PRO-Choice, either your pro life or pro abortion and by your statement, your a closed minded pro abortion supporter.
Ok, in the Bible in the book of Psalms, King David wrote that he was fearfully and wonderfly made by God, that even before we were concieved that God knew us and had writen the plan for our lives even before we were concieved!
About the abortions performed in the US, last year, of all the abortions performed, thise done because of rape or incest made up only 3% of all abortions, then the next highest percentage was because of the mothers life in danger.
Over 60% of all abortions done last year in the US was because the mother didn't want the baby and used it as birth control, tell me does something seem a bit wrong with that?
Also what your not considering, the emotional and physical damage that is done to a woman when she has an abortion.
A woman that has an abortion runs a higher risk of breast cancer, unterine cancer, Cervical cancer. Also runs a higher risk of miscarriages later on when she is pregnant again.
Then theres the emotional damage done by abortion, the feelings of guilt, and regret, and shame. Women who have abortions afterwards feel guilt for killing that baby. And these abortion clinics don't offer ANY post abortive counceling.
I'm the proud father of 3 kids, and could NEVER, EVER imagine even asking my wife to abort a baby if she were pregnant, no matter what birth defects they may have, because if we had a child with a birth defect and were told that this child may not live past a certain age, we would enjoy EVERY day we have with that child.
My oldest son has autism, we found out a few years after he was born, but had we known about his autism inside the womb, my wife would still have given birth to him.
God has a plan for EVERY child. And by aborting those babies, we will never know what his plan for those innocent children would be.
We kill the most innocent among us, all in the name of convienence.
But you probably don't care for a word I just said because you already have your mind made up and are being so closed minded to the TRUTH!!!!
I had a woman try to convince me when my wife was pregnant with our first child that abortion was right. I asked her if she had children of her own. She said yes, then I said back , did you hear the baby's heartbeat when you went to the dr. appts.? She said yes. I asked her if she had seen the baby on an ultrasound, again, yes. Then I asked her, if you heard the heartbeat and saw the baby moving and felt the baby moving in the womb, HOW could you say that life doesn't begin till birth???? She had no reply.
Abortion is MURDER!!!!! I remember reading the 10 Commandments and one of those says Thou Shalt NOT KILL!!!!
What part of that do you NOT UNDERSTAND!!!!
Also in the Book Of Dueteronomy in the Bible, God said CHOOSE LIFE & BLESSINGS OR DEATH & CURSES!!
Obviously from one of your aditional comments it sounds like you don't celebrate Christmas, but I do and I am proud to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.
If this offends you by what I'm saying TOO BAD
THIS IS MY COUNTRY TOO!!!
Merry Christmas

Theres a scientific site. Has nothing to do with pro life, pro choice, or abortion or anything. It simply is the study of human development.
Past 4 weeks, its not longer just a clump of cells, theres eyes, fingers and a heart All barely the size of a lima bean. Theres live video there. To me, thats more than alive, since growth, heat beats, and movement stops when its removed. It dies. Only what is alive can die.
A newborn is only viable if cared for. If left untouched it too will die. It cannot survive without a mother's body, (cannot regulate heat without body warmth from being held, cannot survive without the breast, cannot remain clean without the care of someone else.)
Alive and viable is a suggestive concept.
ooo, here, these are my favorite videos.
http://ehd.org/science_imagegal_3.php
The responce to touch, brainwaves, and hand movement. All within the 6th week. All things aside, I find that amazing.
God, your an angry little beaver. I read your question. And I ignored your reasonsing, because you didnt ask for a reply to them, you asked what my reasons were.
Holy crap.
We are destorying our planet through pollution to the point it cant be reversed, when compared to the damage we have done, theres nothing in my mind that says killing the unborn, instead of just not making them, is a viable reason to protect this spent planet.
Every child born enters into the world with the chance of having parents or people who abuse it, culling off the unborn doesnt prevent child abuse, it simply reduces the cases since there are less children to be statistics.
According to research done for many years now, it would take 4 years of putting all the aborted babies up for adoption in the us (about 150000 every year i believe it is), to fill the current approved waiting adoptive parent list. And thats if the annual 100k new applicants stopped pouring in.
Every year an annual number of 1000 children are unable to be adopted out, mostly because they are near the age of adulthood, theyre too medically expensive to be viably adopted to middle class parents, or the difference in race is just too much to overcome for the social workers, or the children have serious developmental issues, such as violent dangerous tendancies. Of those 1000 nation wide children, about half of the children are recounted every year.
you can google it, thats how i found that information.
You asked for other peoples reasoning, next time, you should just state that you'd like to start an ethical morral arguement.

if the woman was raped, or if the birth of this child will pose serious health risks to ether mother or child or both, or if the child is going to be born with serious life crippleing illnesses then abortion is perfectly fine and acceptable.
however if a girl just got careless and messed about and didnt use protection then she needs to learn responcibilty for her actions and maybe a child will teach her that.
people need to grow up, if you make a mistake you need to live with the conseqeunces of your actions and not just go for the quick fix. , forget what relgion says it should be common sense!
you mess about, you play the field, you deal with the consquences.
and of course abortion past a certian point (i cant remember how many weeks) is wrong because the heart is beating and the brain is working.
but if its just a fetus or less then theirs nothing wrong with abortion provideing it is for the reasons i stated in the first paragraph.
anyway just my thoughts on the matter, their is a right, and a wrong time for abortion

I dont agree with it but feel it's even more wrong of me to tell someone else how to live their life.
The main problem I have with abortion is I don't feel women are educated as to the stage of development their fetus is in..like they are unaware a 10 day old fetus has the beginnings of a brain, heart, and skull. If they knew exactly what they were killing, would they still do it??

Tell a woman that her baby is just a mass of tissue when she suffers a miscarriage. Or try saying that to a couple that has finally gotten a positive test result after years of trying. Before my children exsisted I wanted them. Before they could be born, I loved them. I'd push on my tummy just to get kicked back when they were in the womb. I'd giggle over hiccups that only I could feel. If you kill a pregnant woman in this country, they can charge you with double homicide. I don't need your proof or facts. I have no need to quote things you'll just ignore. My heart tells me all I need to know. And if I or my sister ever suffer through a miscarriage, I'll mourn that baby as if I'd know it all my life. Abortion is murder. Period.
