I just bought a 86 iroc-z T-5 five speed car. Car is in excellent shape but motor is blown up. Was wanting to put about a 400-425 horse small block in it and was woundering if the stock tranny would hold up to that. Any info you could give would be highly appreciated!!!

I built these cars and you got a suspension worthy of its name IROC.The tranny will handle it as we put forged gears in the tranny. What you have is a road race cart that will do .93 on the skid pad with stock gatorback tires. Now if you are talking 700-1000 hp ,well I would still run it till it blew. A few new technos on pressure plates and clutch plates so read up and go with the best

I am pretty sure the tranny if not completely abused will hold pretty well up until at least 500 hp. If it's been abused, then it's only a matter of time before it breaks. Use it until you can upgrade.

A mustang t-5 is only good for 330 hp or so, I can't say what is different with the Camaro's.

Horses are good but you will need a stall converter and to beef up the drive line to handle the ponies.
