Dick Butkus

um..LT is probably a better pash rusher more fit for outside linebacker, My dad tells me all the time how LT used to get such a quick jump the refs would call him offsides because he was across before the other guy was out of his stance, even though he was in fact onsides as replays would show. However If you are looking for the mean punishing linebacker needed to stuff a run game gotta go with butkus

Lawrence Taylor was a great pass rusher but as far as a pure, all around LB..Dick Butkus over LT anytime, anywhere, any place.

any team would be happy to have either one of these guys.but to answer your question,I would use my top pick to take butkus.and remember when butkus played he didnt make near the money L T made .

Apples and oranges baby. You can't compare them. Your talking 20 years my man. Times change and so do players. In modern times Butkis could'nt keep up. What was his 40 time 4.8...4.9 ? Come on. There's 350 Lb. lineman out there that can do that now.
