Have you accepted any downloads on messenger lately? If you have it's possible a trojan has been delivered to you and can send emails to people using your addy.

It looks as if your account was hacked.
Change your password in your privacy settings; whoever hacked your account sent emails to those people.

i would search your pc for worms or trojans. sounds like they are using your system to send spam
