Nicholas Sparks writes good love stories but I have a few recommendations but they are not only good love (with only a man and woman in mind) stories Fall on Your Knees b Anne Marie Mac Donald, Echoes of A Distant Summer by Guy Johnson, Sisters of my Heart by Chitra Banjeree Divkaaruni.

If you are looking for romance any Nicolas Sparks books are good, If you have seen or read The Notebook then I would suggest The Wedding I loved it! Also I like Nora Roberts Sanctuary ( this is a romance/mystery book) and Also Kay Hooper's stand alone series Stealing Shadows, Hiding in the Shadows and Out of the Shadows, those are all really good, but you dont need to read all or in any particular order, but I would start with Stealing Shadows. These are good if you like a mystery mixed with a little of paranormal.

If you are looking for a sappy, tear-jerking PURE romance novel, you should go grab some books by Nicholas Sparks. I've read a few of his and they are amazing. They gave me goosebumps from beginning to end. When I read The Notebook, I was teary eyed through out the entire book. He writes with so much emotion and you can actually feel what the characters in the book are going through. He's my all time favourite author, I think you will like his books.

I have recently discovered the glory of Georgette Heyer books. My favorite so far is Friday's Child.
Princess Bride by Goldman is another good choice.
Gone With The Wind by Margaret Mitchell
Nicholas Sparks if you don't mind unhappy endings most of the time.
If you like historical fiction, try Eugenia Price. She almost always has some romance mixed into the plot.
If you're looking for "romance novels" as a genre (aka smutty books) then try LaVyrle Spencer, Julia Quinn, Amanda Quick, Stephanie Laurens, etc.

Well it's not a love story, but it's an emotional book. I recommend The Giver. It's a bit stupid in the beginning, but towards chapter 10, it gets very sad.

The Time Traveler's Wife, by Audrey Niffeneger. It is an excellent, excellent book.
I Know This Much is True, by Wally Lamb, is not a love story, but you will cry your eyes out. It is about twin brothers, one of which is schizophrenic, and it is beautifully written.

How about the famous book Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen? It's just a great book. I can't explain it, you just have to read it to know.

I really like Karen Kingsbury's books, they're all great novels on love, her books are christain novels and are fairly clean too. Another great one is Sherrliyn Kenyon, they deal with supernatural men (i.e shape-shifting animal-like beings and dark hunters.) They're hard to put down.

"Twilight" by Stephenie Meyer, and its sequel "New Moon" are some of the best books out there. Period!

All "love stories" are about sex, man. There's not one normal love story. All "love stories" have half-naked women and men having sex on the front and back cover. And then it says in caption, "the greatest love story ever written".
