I have WOODEN DOWELS (BARS) that run along the top of my half wall surrounding my stairs... these annoying bars are the focus point of the room... How can I decorate them? Please keep in mind I am renting... and it cannot be too permanent. Thanks!!

In wal mart in the fake flower section there is vine like leafy flowers they sell, get enough to run them up the stairs and possibly run or drape a white sheer curtain around them that makes it a focal point with a conversation.

Make some "S" shaped hooks out of wite and tie them on the dowels (a little blue-tac if they want to slip). Hang little dolls or some such on the hooks. Should be able to fine something in an import store.

Paint them the same color as the walls so they aren't so obvious.

put little fancy bulbs or something on them.
