but when i put it in the other slot the bios sees it just fine. It will only see one of the memory sticks or the other but not both at the same time

I tried the same size memory and it still didnt work

as i said it sees one of each of them alone, in either slot but not together!

its not plugged in all the way or one of the chips is bad making the whole memory stick bad.

Some motherboards have a different layout then others. Like 1&3/2&4 fill one and two with em for dual chanel. if they are not stagerd and put together in a row like blue and black fill the blue which are closer to the cpu not blue and black.

See if the slot is disabled or off in the bios

it have to be the same ,, 256.. to 256... 512.. 512.. you can not put in a 256 , and then put in a 128..
