Every time I try to do that jump and then shoot at the top of your jump the ball barely goes somewhere it never makes it to the hoop. I dont know if I have the wrong form or I dont have enough strength. And if you think I dont have enough strength than what can help me gain enough so that I can atleast make that jumpshot from three point range. And can you please tell me the correct form for the shot like where exactly should the ball, elbow, hands etc....And if you say keep your elbow in then please tell me where you suppose to put it because in does not say much. Thank You

make sure you flick your wrist to the hoop, your body should be square, keep your elbow in, and shoot of your front 3 fingers. A perfect example would be JJ Redick

I had the same problem when I was younger and the answer was this... I wasn't strong enough to shoot correctly at the top of my jump like you'll see good players do.
Like you said, keep your elbow in. It should be straight up and down with your hand facing the basket. Your movement as you shoot with your arm whould be straight at the basket. What I suggest you do is try to find a video of Rasheed Wallace with his super high release. Practice(like 8 feet from the basket) shooting like him because he depends greatly on his wrist action, which is the most important part of a good shot. Once you can effectively shoot like this up close you should be getting the correct wrist action. That's how I learned to shoot 3's correctly.
