Where did the rumor that girls smell like fish down below come from, I know it must bother girls very much, but it had to have started somewhere.

I think it's just that a girl has a very distinct smell & if not kept clean can have a very strong smell. So, I think it's just that they can both have a strong odor. We should really come up with something for the guy's smell 'cause it's such a rude abnoxious thing when a guy says a girl smells like fish. If a man isn't kept clean he can smell pretty bad, too.~

It doesn't bother me, because I don't smell like fish, but I can only speak for myself. I wouldn't say it's a rumor, I just think some guy's have been with unclean female's and the fishy smell, best describe's what they thought the female smelled like. Don't put us clean women, in the same category as the unclean ones.

Well, women's genetalia does tend to have a smell, a completely natural, harmless smell, that is pretty musky. In this society, we are so conditioned as to what smells good that anything that isn't perfumed and sanitized within an inch of its life is considered smelly or dirty. That's too bad.

A fishy smell, however, is not necessarily normal, though does result from poor hygene.

it happens when you don't bathe... so you probably will never experience it if you live in america in 2006. from sweat/bacteria... genitals are a very hot moist place that bacteria thrive in

of course people in the past may not have noticed this because they all smelled "bad," it was just normal and their noses were used to it

i have experienced the fishy smell and believe me it is VERY strong and VERY gross

one more thing, before people bathed, they probably didn't have oral sex so this wouldn't bother them

The smell is a real thing, but its due to sex with a man. The sperm interacts with the womans juice and the result is a smell.

That is very degrading even to discuss. If you stick your nose in someones *** would you say they smell like ****. Most clean women smell nothing but nice.

It's not a rumor! Some girls who don't practice good hygene definately stink like Charlie the Tuna! And if it smells like tuna, DON'T EAT IT!

Some women aren't very good with personal hygiene, and it CAN smell quite fishy if not taken care of properly.

It's disgusting.
