I am an American citizen, but i want to move to a country such as: England, France, Egypt, Italy, Greece or someplace in Europe.

How do you get to move to another country? What do you need to do? I am an American citizen, so it must be easier to obtain a residence in another country, right?
I just want to move to Europe, or Egypt because at least in Europe its more liberal, open-minded and such.

Thanks

I am a Canadian living in Denmark and the only reason I can do it is because Canada and Denmark have a special deal. America doesn't have such a scheme. They may with some countries but having lived in 4 different countries I can tell you that the best way to get a visa to live and work in another country is to get an education in something very, very useful and apply for a job in that field or a skilled persons visa.

I can appreciate that as an American you would want to live in a more liberal country but sweety, Egypt is not part of Europe it is part of Africa and it is a Muslim country. I have friends who have gone to jail there. Don't move there unless you know what to expect.

My advice is take a trip around Europe first so you have a clue what you are talking about. Europe is very different from the US, and even though you might like it here, people may not like you. Come on out and see what you think.

Why do you think it's easier for you to move because you are american?
And you look for an "openminded" country?? You should open your mind first.

And I wont recomend Egypt ....it has nothing to do with Europe,...and it's not as open minded....why don't you start for deciding WHERE and then find out how to do the rest?....I would recommend you to get some culture in different countries you can be interested in, and decide afterwards. Remember you need french to live and work in France, Spanish to live and work in Spain, Italian or Greek......if you dont know any languages apart from English,....start in de UK. (England).
But I think you should start with accepting that the countries you are talking about are as developed as yours or more....cause it sounds like you think you and your country are best.....

Contact the immigration department or the embassy of the country you want to know about. That would be the best place to start.
