No, I don't watch her. I live alone and have the TV on for company sometimes. But as she closed her show yesterday, she informed everyone that the way to spend Christmas Day was to eat lots, open all your gifts and then go to the movies.
I can't remember the name of the movie [Dream something] that she recommended, but it had all afro-american actors.
I thought Christmas was about family - and other things if you're religious.

Dude christmas doesnt have to be about family or religion it is whatever you want it to be about. If opera wants to see a movie dont get offended by it its just her idea on how christmas should be. Anyway I like spending my christmas fooling around with family merry christmas. Be a bit less serious.

My family and I have gone to the movies on Christmas Day a few times. Especially when there were really good movies opening. It's a lovely way to spend the day as a family.

Besides which, while I didn't see that particular episode of Oprah, although I do try to catch the show most days, I'm sure Oprah didn't mean that EVERYONE should do this, but was merely giving a suggestion of what she considers to be a nice way to spend Christmas. Lighten up!

Merry Ho Ho!

Its just a way to spend time with your family, especially if you have teen kids that dont want to be stuck home with their parents, going to the movies is a good idea.

think she was just trying to squeeze in going to see the film (Dreamgirls by the way) in. That was the point of he show, to promote the movie. It does look good though. I agree though, no one should go to the movies on Christmas Day.

no, i didn't see the show....going to the movies would just be another way of spending time with your family...you would have plenty of time to do other things with them afterward...and the movie she recommended sounds like 'dreamgirls' from your description
