There is hunger and sadness and hurt in the world because most people want to gather all the wealth that they can. There is only a limited supply of food and wealth in the world, and these resources are not evenly distributed so their will always be hunger and sadness with unfulfilled ambitions. Of course there are a lot of people that do try to help those less fortunate. A recent report on ABC said that of all the nations in the world the US is the stingiest with charity, but the US people are the most generous.
Then there is how that help is applied. In Sudan the Islamic/Arabic people are trying to commit genocide on the African people, and they are doing a better job than Hitler ever did. Charity helps support the refuges who have been run out of their country and are living in the desert. These people cannot survive without charity, yet that same charity prevents them from trying to relocate in another nation. The only way to stop solve the problem is to stop the Jawandie, which the Sudanese government refuse to do. It is strongly suspected that the Sudanese government wants the Jawandie to be successful. So they won't stop them. No one is trying to stop the Jawandie, so eventually they will win. The Jawandie hate the non-Islamic blacks and covet their land, so the misery will continue.
In Uganda and Rwanda the English Empire made the mistake of saying that the Tutisi people were superior to the Hutus. The Tutisi have been trying to commit genocide on them ever since.
Humans are tribal animals who live with their own group. Strangers can be dangerous, as often the strangers want something that the tribe has. So suspicion is a good survival tactic and prejudice against strangers has been breed into the population. This is the cause for a lot of pain and suffering. A few people are able to open themselves and overcome their prejudices. I try, but as a white man I still fear angry young black men who are looking for revenge for how they have been treated, even if I never had anything to do with this. This prejudice from the black people only insures that they will meet more prejudice from non-black people, especially from white people who are so often the target of their rage.
Most wars can be boiled down to a case of prejudices in action. Hitler just wanted to rule the world, the only people he hated with Gypsies and the Jews. When you want to beat, exploit, or destroy a group then the first step is to dehumanize them. Hispanic People become "Wet Backs" (from swimming across the Rio Grande river), Italians are Wogs, Whites become Crackers, Germans become Huns and blacks become ... Once you have turned these people inhuman it is easier to hurt them. Can you imagine whipping your neighbor, or making him work for you with no pay, seven days a week, for the rest of their lives, unless you sell them? Yet the white people were able to do this to the black people. The only way that they could do that would be to turn them into "black devils", demons and inhuman creatures; since these people are strangers it is easy to do.
The desire to do well for yourself, your family, and your group is universal. Britain built an enormous Empire to make the English people rich. They didn’t care that they treated the Indians as illiterate savages, they weren’t. The Americans had no problem attacking and pushing the Native Americans around. One tribe was given blankets used by patients with Small Pox to destroy that tribe. All of this was done so the Americans could displace the Native People and exploit the land and its resources. The Americans and the English had a higher technology and made better use of the resources, but they didn’t want to share the wealth with the native people, so revolt was the only way for the natives to hold what was theirs. Of course the West aren’t the only people to do this. The Japanese Army was trained to be cruel and heartless. In WW2 they treated Allie prisoners like dirt. But, they treated the Chinese and Korean people even worse and even started a genocide program against the Chinese. Again the Japanese had a superior technology and wanted to exploit the conquered lands, without sharing any of that wealth with the native peoples.
The desire for wealth, all sorts of prejudices, and the simple fact that the resources are not evenly distributed will insure that there will always been pain and suffering in the world. Even in the US, one of the richest nations in the world, there are homeless people. Social Security can help some of them as can the US hospital system, but most of the homeless are ignored and the problem is “swept under the rug.” Not all homeless people are mentally ill, and even if they were they should be treated for it not forced to live at the dark edge of society. The US has a sharp division between the “have” and the “have not” people. The difference between the rich and the poor is increasing at a faster rate. When this happened in France the French Revolution was the result. But, it is only normal for the wealth to try and become even wealthier, despite the fact that they can reach the point where they are unable to spend all their money. Some people, like Bill Gates, Ted Turner, the Carnegie family and others have realized this and have turned a good portion of their wealth into charity. Andrew Carnegie is famous for a note found in his desk, “Get all the money that you can and then give it all away.” As a result American society has the Carnegie-Melon Foundation—a great charity supporting the arts, and a lot of libraries that it wouldn’t have. But, while Andrew Carnegie was amassing all that wealth he was ruthless and became one of the huge National Monoplies. He is famous for his philanthropist works, but even after he started giving away all that money he and his family lived very well. Bill Gates and his wife have done a lot of work in their charites in Africa, but the Gates home is the most expensive home in the US, with computer displays used just to display artwork. The point is that even the great philanthropists first gather huge amounts of wealth around them.
This is why we will have misery in the world. Even if we invented a nanotechnology that could take any raw material and make anything that people would want, there would still be shortages and hunger in the world.
As to the religious folk a lot of them are just as guilty as Andrew Carnegie was, look at Jim Baker. He lived very well by claiming to do religious works for his supporters and congregation, but he was finally brought down becasuse of his greed. The story continues in other areas from crooked politicans to the mafia. All of them have the same thing in common they are trying to improve the position of themselves, their family, and their group at the expense of others. They may mean well, at first, but they still committed evil acts.
As for why we are here; without getting into religion or physophy; what use would the universe be if there wasn’t a creature in it that could contemplate and apreciate that universe. Beyond that no one can say any more with a complete understanding. Religious folk may claim to have all the answers and have it all written down in their book. They can even offer example of miracles to support their case, but they can’t absolutly prove their case. Neither can scientists, but scientists at least have an open mind. Most of the religious folk have a closed mind with no room for any other point of views.

seriously though, no one really knows why. we can't answer it. i think it was aristotle that said humans can only understand truth, not Truth. there are just some things that are beyond the human grasp. a purpose? scientists say that our purpose is to pass on our genes. priests say that our purpose is to fufil god's wishes. there are two sides to everything. why are we here? we're an accident. god put us on this earth to be great.
hunger can be explained scientifically. hunger is just the body needing more glucose to break down into energy. hunger is the body's natural response when you dont have enough energy and you're breaking down glycogin instead of glucose. hunger is actually a good thing because it reminds us to eat and tells us when we need energy badly. why do people have to be hungry? because the rich are greedy. because hierarchy exists. because we have a socal structure with a top and a bottom.
sadness? i honestly do not know about that. again, there are too many different oppinions on that.
one thing's for sure: you cant let your current sadness effect you for years to come. you've probably experienced a loss or a breakup recently, which is why you're asking the question. if you need someone to talk to, i'm there. you can always e-mail me and i'll respond.

i'm an business enterprise believer in "what is going around, comes around" & I even have been on the receiving end of gossip mongers & decrease back stabbers in my neighbourhood. The worst events grew to become into while a neighbours teenage newborn got here to verify me asserting she'd overheard some human beings asserting they did no longer believe that i grew to become into certainly disabled or that my husband grew to become into the two. we've the two been subjected to certainly one of those communicate in the previous so I sat down & wrote out a letter that reported each and every of the scientific situations we be bothered by & bided my time for the terrific suited occasion to crop as much as prepare it to the folk worried.....nicely, certainly I confirmed it to the main gossip lol, understanding that she could bypass the tips about to the terrific suited human beings lol. of direction while she examine it she tried telling me she wasn't between the folk in touch, which i did no longer believe her of direction because of the fact I knew precisely who have been in touch. What i stumbled on the saddest area of the whole affair grew to become into the teen who had come to verify me grew to become into this lady's very own daughter who grew to become into disgusted via her mum's behaviour. On different events I even have heard human beings gossiping & then they have been all smiles at a later date....while that happens I constantly look their way, smile & say hi yet I carry the look in straightforward terms a sprint of longer than prevalent, barely adequate to make the guy sense uncomfortable. specific, I trust you that this website can now and lower back be like the actual international with troublemakers & gossips.........perhaps they are like that on the exterior too. Take heart in understanding that they are the minority. just about all of human beings indexed here are attractive & does no longer say a foul word against yet another individual. x
